President Trump Makes Major Move To Drain The Swamp, Causes John Brennan To Flip His Top At Trump On Twitter Over Firing Of IGIC Atkinson

Opinion| Earlier this week President Trump removed the Inspector General for the Intelligence Community, Michael Atkinson. The move resulted in Barack Obama’s former CIA Chief, John Brennan, lashing out at the President.

In a letter to both the House and Senate Inelegance Committees President Trump wrote:

‘It is extremely important that we promote the economy, efficiency, and effectiveness of the Federal programs and activities. The Inspectors General have a critical role in the achievement of those goals. As is the case with regard to other positions where I, as President, have the power of appointment, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, it is vital that I have the fullest confidence in the appointees serving as Inspectors General. That is no longer the case with regard to this Inspector General.’

NPR explained:

‘President Trump is firing Intelligence Community Inspector General Michael Atkinson, two congressional sources confirm to NPR.

In a letter to the Senate Intelligence Committee chairs Friday, Trump said he “no longer” has the fullest confidence in Atkinson. The letter says the removal will be effective “30 days from today.”

Atkinson first raised concerns about a complaint involving President Trump’s communications with Ukraine, which led to the impeachment inquiry.

An intelligence official tells NPR that Tom Monheim, a career intelligence professional, will become the acting inspector general of the intelligence community.

Atkinson received a complaint in August 2019 about allegedly improper commitments made by President Trump to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy. The complaint was later released by the House Intelligence Committee, leading the White House to release an account of the call in which Trump asked Ukraine’s president to investigate the family of former Vice President Joe Biden. The events led to a historic, contentious impeachment inquiry.’

On Saturday President Trump criticized Atkinson, the soon to be former IGIC, over the way he handled the anonymous whistleblower’s complaint, which lead the nation into Trump’s impeachment saga, which the President called a ‘disgrace.’

On Saturday, he called on Americans to “fire” Trump in November.’

‘One more example of Trump removing those who seek to stop his lawlessness. All Americans fed up with Trump’s incompetence, venality, & narcissism have the opportunity to “fire” him in November—the most important election of our lifetime.’

  • You know its hard to say where all of this started. You could say that ever since there were two people on the face of the earth , man and woman, that there was war. We can site occasions like Lincoln who said burn and pillage to the sea, or simply said Johnson. The Kennedy’s who were killed for commenting on it. Or any of the recent lovers of hate. Nor is it the same the way we react, i will never forget the day Marilyn Monroe sang her little song on public TV. What seems to me is the reaction, because of the internet, or the persistence with which the hate hangs on in this generation. Mostly it seems like there is no background like they just appeared on this time interval with out having been here before. The announcements with pictures of open mouths and faces with no purpose except for what they were payed to do. I have to admire MR Trump for his calm approach with the occasional blast of truth in the face of hate makes me want to cry with the beauty of it some times. No one can know what the president of the United states knows or what he is exposed to including the endangerment of his family. If we can make it to November and time to vote i will vote for Trump. My own comment for that possibility is don’t rock the boat to much or if you do be mindful of what the waves on the ocean are doing. My dad had what was called a square end canoe. It had to flotation tubes along the gunnels that prevented it from tipping over. It was the most amazing boat i have ever seen. My mom could step into it with ease. Just My Opinion 47
