Joe Biden’s favorability rating is in the toilet after Tara Reade made her accusation over sexual assault. People are aware of the story, and even Biden supporters such as Lisa Bloom and Martin Tolchin think he’s guilty…. but choose to support him anyway.
In a poll conducted by the far-left site The Daily Kos, they found that Biden’s favorability has dropped to 34% and his unfavorability rating has climbed to 56%. In the same poll, Trump’s favorability/unfavorable rating is 43% to 55%.
As more people have come forward to verify Reade’s story, more and more people believe he is guilty (except for the political left that could care less). Another poll found that 26% of Democratic voters want Joe Biden to drop out of the race.
This spells real trouble for the Democrats. If many people decide to stay home, it not only affects the presidential race, but it will affect congressional races as well. Their nightmare scenario is that they lose the House and Republicans increase their edge in the Senate.
Despite Trump’s approval ratings being significantly higher, the poll found that Biden maintains a narrow lead over Trump among national voters, leading the president 47-44%. The poll was conducted among 1,546 adults between May 2-5, and has a margin of error of roughly 2.5%.
The Daily Kos poll was one of the first to be released since the former vice president broke his silence on allegations that he sexually assaulted a female aide in 1993, when Biden serving as a U.S. senator from Delaware. Biden denied those allegations during an appearance on MSNBC last week. (RELATED: Joe Biden Has A Long History Of Opposing Due Process In Sexual Assault Cases)
“I’m saying unequivocally it never, never happened and it didn’t,” Biden told MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”
However, 26% of Democrats now believe that Biden should drop out of the race, including 40% of voters under the age of 45, according to a Morning Consult poll published Tuesday.
