If there was ever any doubt in your mind that AG Bill Barr is serious about pursuing the investigation into the Ukraine and the Bidens, his choice of a US Attorney in Pittsburgh should erase all doubts.
He has chosen the tough on crime, Scott Brady, the US Attorney for the Western District of Pennsylvania will be in charge of vetting the evidence Rudy Giuliani has provided the DOJ.
A Justice Department official said Giuliani had “recently” shared information with federal law enforcement officials through the process described by Barr. Two people familiar with the matter said the information is being routed to the U.S. attorney’s office in Pittsburgh.
It is not clear whether Scott W. Brady, the U.S. attorney in Pittsburgh, will play a similar role, or why his office was chosen. A spokeswoman for Brady’s office declined to comment.
Brady is the one who asked then AG Jeff Sessions to pursue the death penalty against the synagogue shooter.
US Attorney General Bill Barr on Monday confirmed that the Justice Department is currently assessing information about Ukraine provided by President Trump’s personal attorney Rudy Giuliani, who says the info contains a “smoking gun.”
“The Justice Department has the obligation to have an open door to anybody who wishes to provide us information that they think is relevant,” Barr told reporters. “But as I did say to Senator [Lindsey] Graham … we have to be very careful … with respect to any information coming from the Ukraine.”
“We can’t take anything we receive from the Ukraine at face value,” Barr said. “For that reason, we had established an intake process in the field so that any information coming in about Ukraine could be carefully scrutinized by the department” to assess its credibility.
Democrat lawmakers however, are doing everything they can to obstruct an investigation into the Biden crime family.
House Judiciary Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) on Monday sent US Attorney General Bill Barr a letter demanding to know why the DOJ is receiving Biden-Ukraine info from Giuliani ‘outside of the normal channels.’
